A Clean Water System
Another leading cause of diseases and mortality in these sections is the absence of clean water. Many of these diseases mentioned above come from filthy water that these people drink now. People there draw water from ground wells that are dug by hand to drink. That water is also used by the animals. At nights, the dogs and the cats drink water from these wells as well. The problem becomes worse when there is a flood that causes all the dirty water to flow into these drinking wells. In order to protect these people against diseases from this contaminated water, Haiti relief plans to provide some good and clean water for these two communities.
According to people who knows the areas well, the best and most efficient to accomplish that goal is to capture the water and distribute it via water pipe that people would only use to drink. The logistics involved in developing this clean water system leads us directly into our third project.
